Ladies and Gentlemen – Cowboy Action Shooters
There is a new 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Texas Republic Ranches Legacy Foundation (TRRLF), dedicated to preserving the legends and legacy of the hardy and resourceful folk who settled the open land of the Texas Hill Country at a time when the maps labelled the area as “Unexplored Indian Territory.”
The Foundation endeavors to keep alive the enduring principles of love of God, family and country, independence, freedom and liberty that motivated early Texas ranchers and honed the skills necessary for them to carve homes and communities out of open wilderness. The weapons of the Old West were a critical part that legacy as they were used to put food on the table and to defend the settlers from numerous threats including Native American Indian raids and other attacks.
The TRRLF is a charitable entity whose goals include preserving the history of these early weapons and the people who shot them while encouraging people to learn about them and to shoot them today. This is done by supporting a variety of shooting sports activities.
The Foundation offers a way to make a tax deductible contribution to an organization that will award financial grants to organizations for range safety and improvement, establishing gun safety programs, encouraging youth shooting by Scouts, 4-H, FFA and other youth organizations, and generally supporting the history of early Texas settlers. It is a way to keep their memory and principles alive.
The TRRLF’s Board Members are: Thomas Pollock (Judge Menday Coming), Rita Pollock (Margo Rita), Janet Hauber (Jacie Lane), Glenn Jordan (Farr Ranger), W. Bret Garner (Cowboy Small) and David H. Donaldson, Jr. (Dragon Hill Dave). All hard-working devotees of Cowboy Action Shooting in Central Texas.
The TRRLF is now offering the opportunity for tax exempt groups to apply for monetary grants from the Foundation for programs that support its goals.
