To Competitors, Sponsors and Friends of the Annual Cops & Cowboys Shootout!!!
With reluctance and a bit of sadness directors of Texas Republic Ranches Legacy Foundation and officers of Tejas Caballeros Cowboy Shooting Club have determined to postpone the scheduled May 30 2020 Cops & Cowboys Shootout.
In this uncertain time of global concern over the Covid-19 pandemic the hosting organizations concluded that continuing with the shooting sport competition on May 30 would be ill advised.
The annual shooting competition between regional law enforcement officers using modern semiautomatic pistols, rifles and shotguns and old west cowboy action shooting enthusiasts using 1800s era revolvers, lever rifles and shotguns has become an entertaining and enthusiastically supported event. The competition is financially supported by multiple area business organizations and private citizens. Economic proceeds of the event are contributed to the Hill Country 100 Club with its sole purpose of supporting the families of first responders injured or killed in their line of duty.
The Cops & Cowboys Shootout is customarily scheduled on a 5th Saturday to not compete with other shooting clubs that offer regularly scheduled shooting competitions on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturdays of every month. Remaining 5th Saturdays in 2020 are August 29 and October 31.
Providing federal, state and local governments have given a travel and assembly clearance at least 90 days prior to the August 29 or October 31 dates in 2020 the hosting organizations may reschedule the Cops & Cowboys competition later in 2020.
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support.
